Jasper’s Brush Wine Cellar

Scope: Four handcrafted arches, recycled brickwork in a common bond pattern, raked joints, and full brick cleaning.

Overview:

This one was a dream job for any brick enthusiast — and easily one of our top four projects to date. Stuart and Kathy had been holding onto a full card set of convict-made bricks for years, and when the time came to build their wine cellar, they knew exactly how they wanted to use them. Each arch features one of the four card suits, surrounded by reclaimed bricks with a rich story of their own.

Getting the arches perfect was no small feat — it took precision, teamwork, and plenty of cutting to make every piece fit seamlessly. But the result? A timeless, character-filled cellar that celebrates both history and craftsmanship.

Jasper’s Brush Paving & Fire Pit

Scope: Herringbone recycled brick paving, brick stairs and bench seating, Old Town pavers, and a cast-iron fire pit with slurry finish.

Overview:

This backyard transformation was built for entertaining — complete with a circular fire pit surrounded by detailed herringbone paving. The standout feature is the perfectly cut bull’s-eye pattern around the fire pit, achieved using a custom wood jig we built ourselves.

Working through summer brought its challenges (fast-drying grout being one of them), but with a few mix adjustments and careful prep, everything came together beautifully. The finished space is a true showcase of craftsmanship and design — one we’re proud to call a More Bricks classic.
